Review: Illamasqua

February 20, 2018

Avant-garde British beauty brand Illamasqua landed at RY.com.au late last year and to celebrate, I was sent a selection of must-have products to check out and report back on. Well, I don't mind if I do.

Launched in 2008, Illamasqua is proudly cruelty free, has not and never will test on animals and the range features over 100 vegan products, with all brushes 100% synthetic. The #humanup campaign aims to disrupt the conventional gender ideas around beauty AND they support S.O.P.H.I.E - an organisation aimed at stamping out intolerance and prejudice. Excellent.

The packaging is sleek, sturdy and eye-catchingly bold and has that nice solid feel that you associate with premium brands. Pictured clockwise left to right are the Neutral eyeshadow palette, Skin Base Foundation, Beyond highlighter in OMG, Slick Stick lip liner in Flush and Glamore lipstick in Virgin with the Matte Veil Primer in the middle. I accidentally yanked the top off the primer and splashed stuff everywhere but lucky I had a bare face at the time so I scooped it up and put it to work, but that's why the lid is still on if you're wondering, because it's a hot mess inside.

Please appreciate  and admire the highlighter especially, sitting there looking like a cut gemstone in a jewellery box. I DIE.

This is a higher-end brand and priced accordingly but if you keep an eye on RY.com.au, I'm sure you'll find some kind of favourable sale or deal to get the best price.

Have you used or seen Illamasqua before?
