#StyleCost2017 : February

March 03, 2017

It was super hot at the start and end of February, I don't mind telling you.

Even though my new job is only about a block further from the Mall than my old one, I've found I've been hanging out there much less. There are new eating spots to explore in my new part of town, it's been too hot to walk anyway and I have actually been a bit (heaps) busy at work!

I've identified a need for tops to wear with skirts and pants (groundbreaking) so that has been my shopping focus of late, as much as I always tend to gravitate towards dresses when browsing.

Part of my redundancy gift from my old work was a generous gift voucher for Myer so I popped down to the Plaza to have a look. As is always the case when you have a voucher, I couldn't find anything to pop on. There were some good reductions though and I ended up getting this Basque top for 40% off the already reduced price . . . making it mine for $15 and hardly worth breaking a $100 voucher for.

In the same outing, I popped into Target for a look. I don't seem to get to Target very often these days but I was pleased to find a couple of nice tees for $15 each - they seem to be hard to come by - and they will both go well with the black midi skirt I've been hunting for ages, a mere $25.

You might have seen the dress and scarf from StyleWe I posted about recently. There was a lot of love for the "boingy dress"!

I had a review of my workout gear which consisted of daggy old tees and boring pants and delivered an overhaul in the form of this combo from Kmart. It's always easier to work out when you have some jazzy pants to motivate you. The top was $8 and the pants $15.

After multiple returns on items that weren't right, I finally kept my gift voucher order from ASOS. Although I don't have pictures of them on me yet as I have submitted them for alterations, you can check them out here:

Katies came to the party with this keyhole hanky hem dress being 30% off, plus I had a $20 voucher for doing a survey. (ALWAYS DO THE SURVEYS). It ended up being $34.11 down from $69.95, I don't mind if I do. I wore this outfit for a day out in Melbourne.

Also pictured above besides my smug face are the rose gold teardrop earrings I bought in the same order, new Cohen laser cut boots from Rubi (paid full price but I wanted them for this outfit so whatever) and my redundancy present to myself (thanks PB) . . .

Yes, I fulfilled my bucket list item of buying a Serious Handbag; the Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM. In doing so, I have all but blown the #StyleCost2017 project apart as it cost only $30 less than my entire 2016 spend. So I'm going to keep it listed out separately as a Special Item. I'm sure you'll understand.

I also took the opportunity during my short stay in Melbourne to avail myself of Mecca Maxima in Myer rather than Sephora since I was able to use that gift card I mentioned earlier. I'm not tracking beauty products, but just for your interest . . .

Unfortunately when I opened it up, ready to take some Insta pics, it was busted! Mecca customer service has been fab though and are sending me a replacement. You'll see it soon enough.

Big spend for a short month but it's a bit of a freak anomaly. Let's see how it settles out next month.

Items acquired: 14
Total RRP ticket "value" - $548.13
Total paid - $188.87
YTD spend - $293.76
YTD "value" - $910.41

How did you spend in Feb?
