#AlmostPoshStyleCost: September

September 30, 2016

If you've been reading Almost Posh for any length of time, you may be aware that I'm tracking my expenditure on clothes, shoes and accessories this year and the results have been most educational so far.

Here's what I landed myself in the month of September. I've had very little opportunity to wear any of it though, given how repulsively cold and wet it's been. #stormageddon.

katies denim jacket, philosophy australia dress | Almost Posh

I bought this Katies denim jacket* after much hemming and hawing and querelous changeroom photos sent to my squad who advised that I could make it work, providing the teamed items didn't lend themselves to being "too regional". Apparently I nailed this look on debut so that's a promising start. It's priced at $69.95 but I got it during the "all denim $35 sale", quite pleased with that. This jacket is quite a monumentous purchase for me, so stay tuned for a specific post on it.

As I mentioned in Posh Picks this week, I also got two tops from Katies during the 30% off new season sale (and free shipping!), including a navy cold shoulder number* that I can't wait to wear and a workable black shell v-neck which is now only $19.95*. It has great length and just a touch more flair than a normal black tee for work and special occasions. No pics yet, it's seriously been too cold to even think about it and I want you to see them as nature intended, not a hurried snap with blue skin on my back patio.

Along with my #BlondeBlogSquad crew, Jenni and Caitlin, I met with Ali from Philosophy Australia when she was in town, showing her new season stuff to stockists. Ali then kindly sent us an item from the current range. I chose the "Odette" dress that I'm wearing with the denim jacket above. My first gifted clothing item, needless to say I'm pretty excited.

Here's another picture of it because it's rad. Again, I need the weather to warm up to prance about in this non-stop. I am digging the print. Normally I'd need to belt a shift dress for some shape but the cut of this is super flattering.

Next, I'd had a pair of plain black skinny jeans on my shopping list for a while. I had bought a pair from Mix Apparel a while back but never wore them because the zip detail across the top of my thighs was most unflattering.

These Target skinny jeans were priced at $39.95 but if you saw my Instagram story, I lucked into finding a pair in my size with some kind of gunk on the leg so they were marked down to $23. Threw them through the wash and bam, new jeans. Don't mind if I do.

Finally, I ordered two pairs of shoes on sale from The Iconic* that I had been wishlisting for ages. They arrived on Wednesday and this morning I dropped them straight back in the post for a refund. SO DISAPPOINTED. So they don't count. But never fear because I have my eye on no less than three pairs at Rubi Shoes. Let the sale stalk commence.
