Farfetch Blogger Competition Prize and Discount Offer

March 11, 2016

Okay, look, I'm not meaning to carry on or anything but I thought you guys might like to see what I bought with my $500 voucher from Farfetch.

Admittedly, when I was first contacted to take part in a blogger competition, I immediately googled "Farfetch blogger competition scam". I found a couple of blog posts on past competitions and I was still a little unsure but I figured I was planning an Australia Day post anyway and the site looked legit enough so what harm could it do to add my competition entry to the mix.

I sent my link to them and asked if they'd let me know who won so I could see what they chose (and also scope out if it was, in fact, legit).

Well, they did indeed let me know who won and it turned out it was me. So if you ever hear from Farfetch inviting you to take part in a blogger competition, you can rest assured it is not a scam and real people actually win because I am nothing if not totally real and 18 months of regular blogging is quite an involved cover story for a scam.

Again admittedly, I then thought "Oh, maybe the code won't work or there will be some sort of catch where I have to pay something." Nope. I simply loaded up my wishlist (after HOURS of browsing because there is a lot of amazing stuff to look at and $500 is a lot of free money to spend), waited for a free shipping offer and POUNCED!

Everything arrived super quick from Europe, in like, less than a week which was so gratifying and it was all packaged securely with lots of puffy air sac thingos.

The bulk of the $500 was taken up by the Marc by Marc Jacobs Mini "Classic Q Natasha" crossbody bag. OMG you guys, it smells so good. I went classic black because when it comes down to it, I am inherently sensible. Don't think I didn't strongly consider the fuchsia though.

Rolling with the Marc by Marc Jacobs theme, I picked up these Logo Disc earrings in blush. I already have the black ones and wear them heaps so I knew these would also be a sensible investment in these troubled times.

Finally, I was having trouble finding something to buy at the remainder price point. I left it a little while and then went back to find a whole beauty line had been added. So when I saw Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush available for the very reasonable price of $49 AUD (compared to $57 at Mecca), I wasted no time adding "Mood Exposure" to cart. Sure, it took me a few dollars over the $500 but it was totes worth it because LOOK.

There you have my Farfetch blogger competition prize haul.

Farfetch have a Refer A Friend program too, so you can get 10% off your first order if the mood takes you and tell 'em I sent you. This is high-end business so 10% off is not to be sniffed at.

Some people have asked what my secret is to winning all these competitions lately. Obviously the first one is that age-old adage; you have to be in it to win it. Blogging competitions and giveaways have good odds. Don't discount a "25 words or less" one as so many people do, your odds are even better! Read and comply with all the instructions to be eligible and check out this post from Em Hawker for some really good tips that I've used to get me over the line!

Have you ever bought anything from Farfetch? What would you get with $500? Are you immediately suss on any offers you get and Google them to see how legit they are?
