Posh Picks: Patterned Pants

November 18, 2015

I didn't ever think I could get away with a printed pant outside of my house up until quite recently, when I embraced them totally and utterly as an excellent transeasonal and even hot weather solution, depending on the fabric.

With so many styles and patterns available, it's important to select the right type to avoid looking too Nanna On A Cruise Ship. I go for a cropped slim-fit style with the elastic shirring because I have short legs and this means nothing dangles over my feet. I also enjoy an elastic waist because once you've known the comfort of a maternity pant, it's very difficult to make the return to a zip/button fastening arrangement.

Here I am displaying some of my jazzy pant collection:

You may lean towards a harem style, drop crotch or full palazzo and that's all good. Allow me to now present you with some options for the season ahead.

If you're wary of going full jazz, start slowly with some monochromatic options:

Capture | Zip Pants^
Were $49.99 - now $35
Betty Basics | Jade Pant^
$35
Betty Basics | Istanbul Pant^
$29
Then, when you're feeling it, embrace the colour! Keep your shoes cute and your top fitted to avoid drawing any unfavourable pyjama comparisons.

Emerge | Lean 7/8 Pant^
$45
Capture | Drape Pant^
$49.99
Emerge | Statement Pants^
Were $69.99 - now $29
New Look | Aztec Formal Jogger^
Were $37 - now $25
And if you're really looking to make a statement:

Next | Navy Stripe Trousers^
$51.00
Mossee | Rochelle Trousers^
Were $149.50 - now $59
Living Doll | Art Nouveau Pants^

Will you be rocking a printed pant for the first time this season or are you a jazzy pant veteran?
